I will tinker with the 10.3.3 driver like you suggest and see if I can coax it into working again.

Cheers

EDIT: Aha! Success! (For Now)

Here's what I did to get the MBox 2 mini to work:

1) Manually uninstalled the driver components (delete, then empty trash):
• /System/library/extensions/DigidesignMbox2.kext
• /System/library/extensions/DigidesignMbox2Boot.kext
• /Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers/DigidesignMbox2MIDI.plugin
• /Library/Startupitems/Digidesign Mbox2
• /Library/Startupitems/DigidesignLoader

2) Opened System Preferences, right-clicked "Digidesign MBox 2" icon, selected "Remove "Digidesign MBox 2" Preference Pane"

3) Rebooted

4) Installed Mbox 2 Driver 10.3.3. After, the computer rebooted.

5) Switched the physical USB port the MBox was connected to, then after a few seconds the green LED came on and it's working normally now.
This worked for me.

THANKS!

Do I still need a USB hub for this to work? I followed the instruction and I have a light, and I can hear the input if the mix is to the left, but no audio from my monitors. So do I still need to get a USB hub???
Thanks :)

Thank you orchetect. I followed your instructions and it worked like charm
Running OS X Yosemite 10.10 on MacBook Pro (17-inch, early 2011)
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 (Quad-Core)
with digidesign MBox2 mini
You're a life saver!
Many thanks again.
The only thing is that every time the computer restarts I have to unplug & replug the MBox2 Mini.

This was working for me earlier, now I can't get the light to come on at all, and the control panel isn't seeing it either.

I updated to the 10.3.9 driver and it made no difference. Tried again, reinstalling as above, and nothing....

It's possible my unit is dead.... nothing shows up in Console either...

OK, so I just repeated the process, this time with the 10.3.3 driver, and it's working again! I guess there is something wrong with the 10.3.9 driver, or there's some other magic happening... the only other difference was this time I did the reinstall with the unit unplugged.

Bad news again, I've been getting kernel panics in Yosemite, and it appears the mbox 10.3.3 driver is to blame....

I have a new iMac Retina i7 running Yosemite and an Mbox 2. orchetect's fix worked for me to get PT 10.3.7 working (although there are a lot of visual glitches with the menus). However, it completely killed PT 11. It won't even boot up now.

It's truly disgraceful how slow Avid is at updating their software. They should spend less time coming up with new pricing schemes and get to work on making their software compatible with operating systems that they know about a year in advance.

Hi installed the 10.3.3 drivers and everything seems to be working, but the sound is awful. Really distorted, just wondered if theres something I have done wrong that anyone could help out with?
