Default Error Dialog after import Audio from Video

Hi all,
I get the following error dialog after importing video and trying to import it's audio. The video imports with no problem. After selecting where to save the audio from the video the following dialog pops up. The audio does not import. Any ideas? Thanks.

Error message:

Could not complete your request because
Assertion in "/Volume/Development/
ws.ProTools.9.0.x/AlturaPorts/ NewFileLibs/
FileFormat//MacBuild /../../FF/Audio/
FF_AudioFile.cpp", line 748.

Thanks for any help in this matter.

This is a known issue and a fix is being implemented.

Until the update is posted you could use any number of other free or cheap options (Quicktime Pro, MPEG Streamclip, etc) to bounce out the audio from the video and import it into Pro Tools.

MPEG Streamclip is an invaluable tool.

For those of you with Adobe products, the new Media Encoder CS5 is amazing - super fast and output looks better than anything else I've seen for the size of the files.

I've been getting the same assertion error, when trying to locate missing audio files that have turned to blue regions in my session.

I'm running Mac / Pro Tools 9 MPowered.

When I try to manually re-link a lost file, a pop up says this:

Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/ws.ProTools_MP_9.0.5/AlturaPorts/NewFileLibs/FileFormat/MacBuild/../../FF/Audio/FF_AudioFile.cpp", line 748

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the files back?

Best, Chris
