invalid asio driver on Cubase SX3.

Hello,

First, excuse my english, i will try my best to explain.

I saw that previous users got the same problem, but i couldn´t fin any solution here in the forum. In addition, i have been searching on the Digidesign answerbase, but i can´t find any solution for this.

I have got an Mbox 2 installed on a PC running Cubase sx3. When i open SX3 i get this message:



"ASIO MME Driver:
An active audio port could not be found.
Errorcode: FE1-E-0600"

In the VST Device Bay setup it has the Digidesign ASIO driver selected, but it said INVALID ASIO DRIVER!

I tried reinstalling everything, Protools LE 7.4, asio drivers, Cubase SX3... but it is still the same. I have also diabled the Windows system sounds, and tried reinstalling "Digidesign Audio drivers v7.0"

I have an ASUS desktop computer with AMD 64 Athlon X2, RAM: 2 Gigabyte and 2,21 Ghz processor. OS: Windows XP Professional SP2.

On the "Control Panel", when i open "Sound devices" i cannot see a sound device installed. i cannot listen to music on internet as well.

On the Digidesign Website, it clearly says that this drivers have been tested with Mbox 2 and Cubase SX3. (http://archive.digidesign.com/download/audiodrivers/xp/)

So my question is, what am i doing wrong?

Does this mean that you installed the extra downloadable drivers over top of 7.4? If so that's a problem.

The correct matching ASIO and Wave drivers are included in each Pro Tools install package.
The drivers available for download are a Stand-Alone version intended for use only if you don't intend to install PT.

If this is the case, I'd try a complete uninstall using the PT Uninstall Utility, then a fresh install of only the 7.4 package.
