Sustain pedal cuts out while recording. Can't figure it out.

Hi,
ProTools suddenly started cuting out the sustain pedal while recording with my MIDI keyboard. I tried following the steps in this post with no luck:

The sustain pedal randomly stops "sustaining" while recording. HOWEVER, when it's played back, the "cutting" out doesn't show up which means that the sustain data is being recorded, it just doesn't sound that way while recording is in progress.

Anybody have any ideas? This issue is driving me nuts! Oh, I should also say I tried upgrading to the latest version of ProTools (8.0.1) but that hasn't helped either.

I figured it out! The "Merge MIDI" button was clicked on the transport window and for some reason that was causing it.
