No audio coming from my 003 rack!

I'm late getting into this thread but there are some very basic things to look at. Sometimes we get so involved we fail to look at the obvious things. Please refer to pages labeled 52 and 53 (actually page 60 and 61 of the PDF file) of the 003/003R Getting Started Guide.

Make sure you have not accidentally turned the headphone level control and/or monitor level control to zero. Also make sure you have not selected any of these front panel button to reroute the output

Aux In (to Monitor) Switch
Alt CR (Control Room) Switch
Monitor Mute Switch.

Anyway, you got the message that Outputs 3-4 were not available.. that typically means that your I/O setup in ProTools is screwy..

If you go to Setup>IO>Outputs what is visible? What happens if you hit the set to default button?

You can also manually change the output assignments...

I'm sure the 003 can be used for system sound output on PC but I'm not familiar with the mechanism... Ask the question on the windoze forum..

I am running Mac, pro tools Le digi 002. I had the same problem with no audio coming out of my monitor or headphones. i stumbled on this site http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...id=37991&eid=0
I downloaded Tech Support Folder (for Pro Tools 7) for my system and
ran the audio test file in one of the folders. Be careful when you run this.
The audio test worked immediately but was extremely loud because I had
my volume set to high on headphones and monitor. Make sure yours are
set lower before running the test.

My pro tools audio on both my headphones and monitor worked immediately after running the test.
