mac custom keyboard shortcuts not working

hey everyone. i tried searching the forums but it's very hard to find this. I use the keyboard shortcuts feature of osx for different commands. I use a lot of audiosuite plug ins and have the ones I use a lot on custom shortcuts using apple/option and some key press. Like Normalize is apple+option+n. i can see the menu being highlighted but the plug ins arent coming up anymore. One of my customs is still working though F13=Name

ohh also this is probably a feature request but it would be cool if the audiosuite plugs toggled with keypress. That way i could pop up a plugin with the custom key and then close it again with same key press.
