Default Mbox 3 - how to clean noisy master pot

I have a used mbox3 with noisy master volume pot. Are the newer mbox 3 units easy to get into? I plan on opening it and cleaning the pot with tuner cleaner. When I turn the master volume even a little, blasts of noise come out of my mains -- which concerns me. Its not under warranty. I am capable of repairing mechanical parts of electronics, like a pot, but wanted to ask first in case there were things I should know first before opening it up. Thanks!

I highly recommend DeoxIT D5. If you can get to the pot shaft and let a small amount run down the shaft at the correct angle. Apply just enough to have it coat the shaft and follow in down, easy does it is the word here - do not use the sprayer for this application. Or, if you can get to the actual pot once you have the cover off, apply directly.

I had a very similar experience with an amp recently and it worked wonders. No noisy pot for several months now and it was driving me crazy before.

I have no affiliation with the company, but I can say from experience it's the "bees knees" for cleaning noisy pots and electrical contacts if you can get it in direct contact with the problem area. Two thumbs up!!!
