Default Looking for a good, cheap analog sounding delay

Hello,

I was looking for a good quality, inexpensive delay plug for pt. I really like Echo Farm but it is bit pricey.

Does anyone know of an alternative that will produce a similar delay?

Chad

SoundToys EchoBoy is pretty much the best delay plug-in I've ever used. Very analog sounding.

Yes, EchoBoy is very cool. Amazing what you can do with "just" a delay, innit?

I have now totally fallen in love with the Echo Boy plug. The more I use it the more I am amazed at what it can do, and how easy ot is to get something warm and creative. But most of all I find the "analog" feel it has, just blows away all analog simulators I have ever tried.
Problem is, it eats DSP like mad !
Oh and I forgot, cheap it isn't, unless you manage to grab a special offer on one of soundtoys bundles.

Lexicon PSP 42 delay....

based on a PCM 42 delay... and emualtion. not quite as good as the hardware, but a great delay for a plug-in.

You can pick up the Bomb Factory telray delay pretty inexpensively. Check Ebay or the user forum.

If I was going to get only one PSP delay it would be the 608.

I'd add another vote for SoundToys EchoBoy. Maybe you can find a used copy if you search around. Whatever you pay for it, you definitely won't be sorry. IMO, it's one of the best plug-ins ever put out for PT.

I don't think of the 608 as being an analog clone, but it does have overdrive & filters. It will do backflips and it has some cool presets. If you're into having a delay with some complexity, this is it. I like collecting fx boxes where I find two or three unique tricks and this is one of them.

Personally I think Echoboy in general is the best all around PT delay. The Eventide Band Delays is also cool.
