Default I think I\'m hosed - need some help - Frozen Up

AMD 2800XP
PT 6 I Think... Or the earliest version that works with Win XP....
Win XP
Digi02

This computer never goes on line and has been running like a top for ever.

Playing a comp then the comp froze up saying hardware can't be found....
Now I can't get PT to fire up without getting that same prompt.

I plugged an external FW drive in to the port and it came right up, so it's not the FW card or cord.
The other strange thing is that the mute button on the Digi Rack won't disarm when I turn on the box. I'm assuming that this is not normal....

So I decided that before I do anything rash I'd post and see what we might come up with...

Thanks a heep

It could be a 002 hardware fault (i know... tell me something i don't know). There have been unlimited amounts of these going around. Strangely the warning you're getting is not common with this problem.

Greetings.

Sounds like the classic harness issue.

I'm on my fourth now and each time the symptoms have been a bit different.

On a brighter note, Digi told me the other day that they now have.... "revision G" which apparently should last longer than versions A,B,C,D,E and F*.

Best regards,

Haigbabe

* I think that means a full octave now
