Honestly, guys, this is the third time in 2 days this topic has come up.

There is no new news on the Universal version of ProTools, only that it will be coming by the end of this month.

Quote:
Pro Tools LE and Pro Tools M-Powered 7.1.1 Software
Expected late May 2006, this free update to Pro Tools LE and Pro Tools M-Powered software will run as a native application on Apple’s new Intel-based iMac and MacBook Pro computers, making full use of the host computer’s processing power.

For some reason I was harboring some hope that it would come out today. I actually considered installing my old copy of XP yesterday.

LedZepp007 the strange thing is I was hoping the samething, I understand Digi said "The end of May" but the released the music toolkit (which I also purchased and is collecting dust until this update!) a few weeks before its scheduled release...Lets keep our fingers crossed!

"Expected" is not the same as "Will".
It could just as easily be June or July.
Just wait for it to happen or look for other means.
Anyone who has been around knows that when it comes to Digidesign it's not released until it's released.

I've been around Digi for a while and its still not a reason for a driver not being ready especially if the "music industry" see mac's and protools going hand to hand like husband and wife, I dont think people are whining the complaints are legit, this is a forum...however I do understand people with working G'5,s Powerbooks and so on not seeing how legitimate "our" gripe is.

Yep, I feel pretty damn impatient. It just seems like this is dragging on for forever, even though I guess it isn't. May seems to be passing so slowly without Pro Tools. And since my band dissapated I no longer have access to HD. Unfortunate. PTLE just wasn't getting the job done on my old personal computer, so it was about time for an upgrade. Because I use my computers for more than recording, I got an Intel Mac as oppossed to the PM G5. SO, after a month of waiting, I have about 674 new song ideas that I simply refuse to record using Garageband and the iMac's built in microphone. My Digi interface is collecting dust alongside my old Mesa/Boogie. Granted, I am sure that Digidesign is doing everything they can to release 7.11 by the end of May, but I will be aggravated if they don't. I had a feeling for some reason that today was the day, but alas I am wrong. At least we will have Rewire.
