Default Some ACID loops will not import into PT LE

Hi,

As the subject says Some ACID loops will not import into PT LE. They will not even play in the import window. Anyreason why?

Anyone?

Sample rate/bitdepth? Too simple probly.
Are audiocodecs an issue in this? File may be read only. Just some suggestions.

Yavuz,
I use Acid and have had good success with importing audio...What do you normally do to the Acid loop before you import it? Do you save it as a .wav? Do you change tempo? Maybe I can give you some advice, but I need more info...

Here's another one, from another thread:
PTLE uses the AES/Broadcast WAV file format which does have some additional information at the begining of the file. (quote)
Good luck,

yavuzj,
Man, I'm having the same problem sometimes. Gotta be the type of file; I don't think it would be sample rate....

I'm still quite new to Acid(Have the 3.0). When your ARE finished with a loop, how do you make it a WAV to import into PT? I tried converting the Acid File, but my file converter( Using MMJukebox) won't recognize the .acd file to begin with. There's just nothing there.

Suggestions?

Thanks, Roy

there are a lot of wav file loops out there on the internet that are not 16/44 uncompressed waves using some wacky codecs. i had the same problem when i was using acid. either convert the wav's to 16/44 before importing them into acid, or bounce your acid session as 16/44 uncompressed.

peace....

I use render as and choose to export each track as a seperate wave file. The funny thing is that some of them do work.

yavuzj,
Good, because I tried 'Render' earlier, and it did NOT work on this particlular one. It must be the samples we start out with. Anybody, do we need to convert samples BEFORE we make them into ACID loops? How?

Thanks, Roy

This does happen from time to time, and I tend to believe it's simply due to an invalid or corrupt file.
As for your Q:, Roy, I've never had to convert any .wav files to bring them into Acid. If it's a WAV, no matter where I got it, it usually works and stretches just like a loop from an Acid library Disc (which I gave up on, there's so much better out there).
I think the "Export/Render As" options were clearer in 2.0 than in 3.0, but you can still achieve the same results.
Also, you could consider this: Right-Click on the colored box(usually a circular arrow) left of the track, select Properties. This will bring up a new box at the bottom of your workscreen, and you can save from there as well, by clicking on the floppy disk icon and choosing a destination. I believe it only the affects the 'source loop', however.

I haven't used Acid since purchasing Reason a month ago (I know, I've mentioned it before ), so I'm not 100% on what I said. I know I'll get back to it eventually...
