How to bypass the mic pres and the AD converters - 003

How do I bypass the mic pres and the AD converters in the 003?

I'm using a good mic pre that goes via XLR's into a Lynx Aurora 8.
But then must I come out with XLR's going into channel's 5-8 in the back of the 003?
Or do I go into the Optical In?
Or do I go into the SPDIF?

My objective is to completely bypass the Mic Pre and the AD Converters in the 003.

By using an external ADAT or S/Pdif converter box

If your Aurora has the optional ADAT card, just use an optical cable between it and the 003. If it doesn't, get one. Set Pro Tools to take word clock from ADAT optical, make sure the Auroras' sample rate matches your session, and you're good to go.
