Default Can't open PT7.4 file in 8.0!

I am finally trying to make the transition to PT8. I have a session from PT 7.4 that I need to open. Its a template file of sorts.

Every time I try to open it PT crashes. I have taken out any plugs that might be incompatible. I am wondering if it is related to IO configuration or something like that changed between the two versions.

Any ideas or suspicious things to look for?

I have PT8 and 7.4 on separate startup disks on the same G5. Both systems were installed at the same time a year ago. PT74 runs fine, I am just now starting to use PT8.

HD2 / 96io / 2.7 dual G5 PCI / 2 GB

thanks!

Have you tried other 7.4 sessions ? from your post it sounds like it's just this one. Do as dism suggested and import the tracks into a newly created 8 session.

Did you try importing one track at a time? You might be able to narrow it down to one corrupt track.

Got it! Autot Tune 4 incompatible.

What's the cheapest way to get Autotune 5 or whatever version is needed for pro tools 8 compatibility?

thanks again all.
