Default Big Sur or Monterey for Protools 2022.5?

I was wondering what you guys recommend with latest protools 2022.5 - I`m currently still on Mojave with several computers and I think it`s time to step up soon because I´m getting error -9073 again and I guess this is plugins or the combination of Mojave and 2022.5?

Maybe it's a Mojave issue but not necessarily. On the Pro Tools Operating System Compatibility Chart, 2022.5 compatibility with Mojave is listed as "untested, but expected compatibility".

If you decide to upgrade, it's always a good idea to have a backup of your current OS - just in case!

i think it's a close call at this point. Big Sur, being older, will have a few less compatibility issues. But it will be supported for less time, so you'll have to upgrade again sooner... Personally I'd go with Monterey. I'm running two machines and recently upgrade the hackintosh to Monterey from Big Sur, because Monterey was working fine on the laptop.

In the same boat. 2 machines running pretty smooth with 2021.12 and Catalina. How is the latest OS and newest Tools running for anyone?

I have 2 machines. 2013 Trashcan 6 core 64 gigs and a late 2019 8 core MBP with 32 gigs.

I’m using 12.4 (Monterey) with 2022.5 on an M1 Ultra. It runs very well.

I have 2 systems with PT 2022.5. First system is a MBP 2020 Big Sur 11.6.2 and PT Studio 2022.5 with a UAD Arrow. Works great.

2nd system is a MP 2013 Trashcan Monterey 12.3 HD Native card in a OWC Helios 3 PCIe to TB3 expansion chassis with PT 2022.5 Ultimate. This one works great too. Helios 3 chassis I highly recommend for PCIe card users.

I will probably update my MBP soon to Monterey

Yikes.. Mojave still? I left that two years ago for Catalina.. Just kidding on the fact you are still there. I am sure you have your reasons, but I skipped a bunch of OSX's myself. Ex. I went from Sierra and skipped High Sierra. Then I went straight to Mojave.. Keep in mind I was on a late 2013 Mac Pro Trash Can, which I am still running with my current OSX which is Monterrey 12.4, which is running great with Protools 2022.4 and now for the last month 2022.5. No issues and actually runs fine here even in my DOLBY ATMOS studio running the Renderer etc.
Hope this helps. Just make sure you do your do diligence with your install however you do that. I do a ton of work here, so I would know. Music composing mixing and now Atmos with picture and also music Atmos.
Even ran it with some online stuff going on and Atmos worked well without a hitch.
I also know that a lot of people may poo poo the 2022.5 that it is no qualified, but it actually fixes stuff. I also know some Avid folks that have been running it for a while without any problems either. You mileage my vary though.
