Anyone see a date for UAD going to AAX?

For now, 11 is little more than a toy to play with as none of my 3rd party plugins have gone AAX yet. Kind of a bummer

I never understood that compulsion to upgrade if you end up being able to do less at the end.

Has technology became more important than the actual value of the music?

I'm not a tech but "only" a musician, I'm still running an old sequencer here (Logic 9, pro-tools 10 demo never loaded plugins), but I can record 64 stereo channels of VI simultaneously (input monitored for free...) alongside amazing Altiverb 7 templates (I have spent years to improve) and some amazing mastering tools, all plugins that are months (some years) from being in AAX format. I can do all this in sync with a notation software and a movie on a 4-years-old Mac because I have taken the time to optimize my system.

I keep seeing sound engineers that paid 5x more for their computer and software and end up doing 10x less. Like people buying the latest VSL instruments and crashing their computer loading a few of the newer instruments. They think the violin sounds real but they cant even write a credible violin part.

It's like they worship the tech instead of the music.

I don't see a major issue yet, since you are able to have the 10.3.6 in the same system running the UAD as RTAS.

They said the AAX will be available soon, how soon?, only they know.
