Default Is tracking latency getting better on LE/MP?

Hi guys,

I own an MPowered system that I use mainly just to translate my Logic sessions. Now that Avid/Digi have aquired Sibelius (my favourite computer program in general) and started to show hints of integration, I'm starting to wonder if I should try Pro Tools as my main DAW. Anyways, what I am trying to find out is if the tracking latency is getting better as computers get faster. By tracking latency I mean the amount of time an analog signal takes to go into the computer and back out again with FX. I've posted this in here because LE has been around longer than MP and I'm trying to get an idea of progress over time.

Thanks

As computers have gotten faster, and audio I/O hardware and drivers have improved, latency during tracking really has improved. In addition, most hardware (including our LE hardware) feature a low latency monitoring mode, which essentially routes the input directly to the output, bypassing the computer) if you need "Zero Latency." However, I find that I don't have to use that very often, and even sessions with drummers have been just fine monitoring post software.

Cheers,
Scott
