Default external effects with Digi 002?

Just wondering how I would connect an external stereo effects processer to the Digi 002 mixer to use in Pro Tools...I would assume there should be some type of 'aux send/return' input right?...

Also, can these external effect be used in real time as I am recording the track so the player can hear the effect with his instrument?..If it can, is there any latency?...

Also, I understand that the 002 mixer has some effects built in, how are they?....

I don't own this mixer and have to do a job with it this week so ANY info suggestions would be VERY appreciated....thanks!

It describes exactly how to do this in the Reference Manual. You use the inputs/outputs as sends/returns.

Tech Docs keep in mind that you must use the same inputs as outputs for external effects. i.e. - In 7-8 needs out 7-8.

This is true only if you use external gear as an Insert. You can also buss external gear to Aux tracks and assign your I/O as you wish.
Latency can be as low as 64 samples depending on how much power your host system has. There is also a low latency monitoring mode you can check out. It has it's limitations, but worth checking out depending on how sensitive the artist is to latency.
When are you planning to get your hands on the OO2? PTLE will take a little getting use to, although it is relatively intuative right out of the box. Getting a compatable host is usually more problamatic. Included plugin variety with PTLE is not that great. Basic EQ, Compression, Delay, and a gawd aweful reverb is bundled with the package.

The "built-in" effects are only available in stand-alone mode so they won't help you. The SPDIF is a handy place to patch a digital effect unit like the TC M-ONE or anything with SPDIF I/O.
