Default Can somebody please explain?

What would be the benefit and downside if I would go for pt10? is there any benefit or would it maxx out my system and if not, what's the use if I will get stuck anyway with the control surface?

Intel based macbook pro with 4 gb ( is max)
Os 10.5.8
003 control surface
Pt9 ( came from pt7.2 than pt8 with music production toolkit)
Nice list of plug ins : waves (abandoned wup this summer), emi, etc...

I really need some advice. Also, what will be the price tag?
Thank you

not sure what you want me to say here.
That Intel MBP is still running 10.5 ? ... Will it be suitable to run Lion ? If not then you need a new MBP. Not because of PT 10 but because of Lion.

Yes you can go Snow Leopard but me personally I wouldn't bother anymore unless I already was on SL maybe.

10 on Lion ROCKS ... but of course you need a computer that can cope with it.

Did a silly test the other day that might illustrate some of it's powers. Hookep up my MBP to the studio ethernet network. Opened up a session straight from the PT HD system in Studio A (50 + tracks @ 96k)

Of course I didn't have all the plugins I have on the Icon system but still .. Instant playback / snappy / no hassle whatsoever playing back those sessions. Didn't even blink

Then created a blank session over the network straight on the studio hard drives. Launched record for 32 tracks ... like a breeze.

Same sessions opened on the main system and on the MBP playing back at the same time in different locations ... couldn't make it crash.

Is it worth it ? I think I'm the wrong guy to ask to be honest ... I LOVE it. It is without a doubt the best release since Pro Tools 7.2

It is THAT snappy / vivid / stable and just feels good. The new clip gain and the way it is implemented alone is worth it.

But your OS and computer needs to be able to handle that stuff of course.

Chris
