Default Apple External Displays w/MacBook Pro?

Is there an issue with using firewire or USB inputs on an external Apple display hooked up to my MacBook pro?

The display contains several extra USB and Firewire inputs which makes it easier, since the MacBook pro really has limited amounts of inputs (only 1 firewire for example). Being able to use the display's inputs in conjunction would be great, but I'm wary of using them. Most of the time, Pro Tools stuff needs to be connected DIRECTLY to the computer and not any sort of hub or secondary device.

Is this the case? has anyone had success with using external display inputs?

I use it like that, no problem. (iLok on USB connector display and secondary Firewire drive connected to the Apple cinema display).

I would be surprised if you were to have any issues with that seeing as how the new displays use the new thunderbolt port which is said to be wicked fast. However if you were to try it and run into problems let us know!
