Default How has avid not fixed duplicate on the grid yet...

Its freaking 2018 and still after duplicating something on the grid a few times it gets off by a few samples. Get your **** together avid. I shouldn't have to quantize my audio clips because your basic functions don't work

I hear you and feel your pain, basic functionality and worked fine up until PT 11 and was then touted as a "feature" - look up sample rounding

set track reference to ticks and duplicate away.

It's not an error in samples mode - it's "correct", the other DAWs are actually fudging things! However, you can set PT to fudge things too if that's what you need (and that's what ticks mode does).

It’s been like this forever. Definitely before PT 11.

Yes. Pro Tools is very exact.
Be sure to pay attention to the selection. as well as how exact the edit selection is.
i.e. 20 ticks loose looped 5 times = 100 ticks and audibly off.
