Default Message from Absynth developer Brian Clevinger

It seems that Absynth is gone.
It's gone from the NI website.
(Thanks to Ed A. at Gearspace for the video link.)

Sad news. It's been feeling long in the tooth, but still a great product. 22 years is an amazingly long life for software. I do hope they bring it up to Apple Silicon before abandoning it.

Like I said; it's completely gone from web site and Native Access. It's their property. I agree with people on GS saying they should simply give it back to Clevinger, and he would take care of it.

I have Steven Slate Drums EX 3.5 and an East/West Bosendorfer 290 from many moons ago that was originally installed via Service Center and both are currently installed and authorized via Native Access 2 as recently as two weeks ago, both run under Kontakt (fresh install of MacOS Monterey 12.5.1 on a a mid-2015 rMBP along with Pro Tools Ultimate 2022.7). Maybe Absynth will endure the same fate as long as the OS and PC architecture support it.

I have used Absynth on and off since the beginning. The last few years, retired and not creating much, I have had the 30 min functioning trial, and have used it occationally just to print sounds to a track before the 30 mins were up.

Yesterday when I tried it, it would show up without any presets, and it worked, but only with a sinus tone. I have two theories why this happened; 1-I recently installed Native Access to update a few kontakt libs, and Absynth is simply absent from NA. 2-My first theory; that my changing the location of files and the name of startup disk. I don't know. And it seems I didn't store the trial installer.

I'll miss Absynth. It was pretty unique.

They were still selling Absynth as part of the Komplete Classics bundle a week ago. I don't think even NI could drop support that quick. Although they are related to iZotope now...

Absynth is still great. It's a shame.
