Default Mezzo problem

I'm using mezzo 3.8 to back up my 5.1.1 sessions. I started a project on one 18 gig drive. Now it's almost done, but I had to change some sessions to a new drive. Now mezzo puts those sessions dimmed in the overview. The help says I should retarget the sessions by dragging them to a drive. But when I do it it starts restoring without asking me if I wanted to restore or retarget. Is there a way to show mezzo where are the sessions

Did you alter the drive allocation for the tracks?

Hey biscoito — Mezzo will try to restore sessions if you drag the session folder or individual files onto a drive. The way to retarget is to drag the hard drive icon where the session was originally located (under "volumes", the white window) onto the new drive. Then you should get the dialog box asking "do you want to restore or retarget?" Hope this helps.

Warmest Regards,
Brian

Any time you move a session to another drive, you should re-assign the disk allocation to the new drive, or PT will write any new audio & fade files to the original drive (provided it's still mounted on the desktop). Retarget the session to the new drive (per my earlier post)… Mezzo will immediately find the session, and all new or modified files will be backed up.

It's also a good idea to use a disk mounting utility such as FWB or ATTO E.P.T. to unmount the drive containing the original session… this will force ProTools to access the PT files only from the new drive. Good luck.

Warmest Regards,
Brian
