Legacy SC48 Venue, Waves, Windows Standard
Hello: I have 2 SC48 Venue consoles. One has Windows Standard embedded, the other has XP. The XP console has no problem activating Waves plugins, but the same show download on the Windows Standard SC48 will show the same Waves plugins in the racks and plugins list, but using the same USB license will not activate the plugins. Is this a “Standard” issue? If so… Can this console get upgraded to XP? Thank you for your time.

Hmmm, shooting from the hip here(and maybe someone with direct experience will chime in). If you can open both consoles to access the hard drives, take the XP drive and install in the other SC48 and test. If it works fine, then I would clone it to a new(blank) SSD(sure, you could clone to a spinner, but the SSD should boot much faster and be much more reliable).

Interesting idea. I will consider that. I hope to get some background on Standard vs XP on these desks.

Hi Dave…. Thank you for the idea. I am curious if there may be any other hardware issues with that exchange… or Ram?

Re: Legacy SC48 Venue, Waves, Windows Standard
I believe there is only 1 Windows version for all legacy line (D-Show, Profile, SC48). And it's Windows XP Embedded.
But there are 3 different motherboards. I would say that it's ok to just clone HDD from one system to another given the motherboard is the same. |

Re: Legacy SC48 Venue, Waves, Windows Standard
Thank you for the message. I have a “Standard Embedded” sticker on one SC48, the other states “XP Embedded”. But I am willing to give it a go if it is a safe bet and solves the Waves License issue. Any suggestions on best Drive to look for?

Re: Legacy SC48 Venue, Waves, Windows Standard
Hello,
We have a corrupted Venue SC48 which shows that there's a certain dll file is missing on the system32 of our SC48 during boot, which unfortunately we are stock on that screen. We are eyeing to change our drive to SSD, however, we don't have the recovery or drive disk of our mixer. Is there any way we could fix our mixer. Hope you could shed a little light on this. Thank you so much in advance. |
