Default UA TDM Compressors 1st Impressions

Downloaded the demos yesterday and replaced the Bombfactory versions on a current mix, and there is a noticeable difference. The 1176 is just miles better, none of the darkness I heard in the BF version, sounded clear as bell on a lead female vocal. The LA2A was warmer/fuller than the BF (and a little trickier for me to get right for some reason) but was right on with the sound of the real deal.

Check out these demos, they are killer. Best part about the company is there is no attitude, extremely helpful and cool people at UA.

I agree. The 1176 is fantastic. To me, the sony oxford finally brought analog quality eq into the box and the UA1176 finally brings hardware quality compression to HD.

I've been waiting to buy one or the other for about six months now.

I decided to wait for the UA plugs to ship as I got tired of the bickering back and forth between UA and BF and wanted to hear for myself.

..deleted..

The UA stuff also doesn't show up in the AudioSuite menu or the RTAS menu which is a pain.

I bought the BF stuff.

I just downloaded the demo today and I must say bomb factory made my instruments sound so much cleaner and better.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">DA....you would never use a real LA-2A or an 1176 to make any instrument sound "cleaner"....

BS detector hitting red!

Looks to me like Erik has changed his name to Scott Anders.

That entire pose reeks of typical BF propaganda. Especially since the UA demos have only been avail for a day or two!

BTW: That was Scott Anders *first* post on the DUC... you make the call!

bassmac - I think you're right. Before I even saw your post I checked on "Scott's" profile because I suspected the same. Even when posing as someone else he's still easy to spot.

Is this a "pure-TDM" plugin with no RTAS/Audiosuite? (Couldn´t find that on their homepage)
