PT10 crashing during "Save Copy In" to PT7-9
PT10.3/Lion 10.7.4 and every time I try to save copy in to PT7-9, it crashes.
The problem session is a giant 88.2/24-bit project. My regular 48k/24-bit projects convert to PT7-9 just fine. Tried my desktop and my laptop. Frustrating. MacPro Harpertown 2.8Ghz 8-core, 8GB RAM, 10.7.4, Pro Tools 10.3 with Complete Production Toolkit 2, Quicktime 7.6.6, Digi 003, Control|24, Blackmagic Intensity Pro, eSATA hotswap tower, Soundminer 4, Waves 9, Lexicon, Audio Ease, Melodyne, SoundToys, Izotope RX, Pro Tools Instrument Expansion Pack...

Did you get any resolution to this? I'm having the same problem when saving a copy from 10 to 7 it works 3/4 of the way freezes then crashes.

Re: PT10 crashing during "Save Copy In" to PT7-9
No, I haven't figured it out, and fortunately I haven't needed to. With some software gymnastics, I've been able to keep this mix in PT10.
I suspect that it's one of three things: -abnormally high number of double-nested groups (I didn't edit this- the editor who did grouped, edited, grouped AGAIN, and kept editing. It's really tough to work with. For you newbies out there reading this, DON'T work that way.) -high-sampling rate (88.2) -large media pool (this session draws on 200GB of audio) Again, I have another project with average media pools of 10-18GB/48kHz and sane groups, and they copy to PT7-9 perfectly.

Re: PT10 crashing during "Save Copy In" to PT7-9
P.S. for low money, you can put some more RAM in your laptop and buy the upgrade to 10. It will run okay as long as you can run 10.6 or 10.7 on that hardware.
