See how it's clipping? that's the main reason I want to fix this problem. The LEVEL knob on the mini grand is unresponsive to ANY change I make, whether manual or via automation. It just ignores everything and continues to revert to it's current level, where it's clipping.
I'm not looking for "proof" out of doubt, but listing a series of steps that I would personally do to trouble shoot the problem. Screen shots are of great value when trying to help another trouble shoot via a text based forum, since I cant be there in person while I donate my assistance. I'd call this a bug then and should definitely be reported here. W7 is not supported and still very much in beta. I myself wouldn't run any beta for critical work. You're running PT 8.0.3 I presume? Are you using a hardware controller? Another thing that needs to be done is system optimizations for Pro Tools.

Just one more thought, are your meters pre or post?

Right on.

I am indeed using 8.0.3. I am using a KORG 49 MIDI Control. I jiggled the knobs and stuff to make sure it was sending some weird, constant stream of MIDI data to Pro Tools.

I will report the bug. I understand W7 isn't supported, but for my situation, it was either pay $200 to update my Vista to run Pro Tools, or just get Windows 7 for cheaper, knowing it's a much better OS, and waiting for PT to get it in gear.

I've implemented all (or at least all I could) system optimizations.

RQS: My meters are pre as of now.

Thanks guys!

...and just two more thoughts, I have that very same controller tucked away in a closet somewhere but shouldn't the Korg volume control the volume on your virtual instrument? Is this where you are having the actual problem? Have you tried a different midi cord? Those pins get bent rather easily.

There's no volume control on my controller. It's a USB controller.

Unplug the controller from the computer for now and see what happens. Less is more during trouble shooting.
