Part of me thinks its cool and part of me is really getting sick of paying for the software over and over again. Is this little audio interface seriously worth $250? No, part of that is paying for the software. I really wish there was a better option for those of us who have already paid for the software. I'd throw down $100 right this second for that but $250 is silly for something every other DAW that I can think of allows you to do for free.

For retail yes, I was just taking a guess at the street price.

I'm scratching my head here:
who is this intended for? I mean, if you don't already own pro tools, this would be completely useless, since there is no input to record audio. That said, I have already spent well over 1500 bucks on a 002R with factory bundle. Do you really think I should have to buy the same software that I already own to get a dongle that has a headphone jack? -- For $280???
Seriously?
and not to get away from the subject here, but the instrument bundle is 800-something dollars and if I want a descent Reverb another 500... I really hate to say it, but I am starting to wish I would have gone with Logic... (ouch)

Agreed that the price is way too high for such a small device, especially since I already own both a 002 and the Mbox 2 Mini (oh why didn't the micro come out six months ago!?) Anyway if we're loud enough maybe they'll sell just the hardware to registered owners of PT 7.3 for $100. I think that would be fair and also quite lucrative for Digi.

This device is great for all laptop users editing sessions anywhere, anytime with something as small as a USB flash drive. Especially with Pro Tools 7.4 it's gonna be fun times on plane trips, etc with the all powerful Macbook Pro or whatever powerful laptop being used.

That's a good idea. People who never have had pro tools...280$ us... about 100$ sounds good.

I've been reading a lot of users trash talking digi for being....well...business men. But then again there are honest business men and greedy business men. I think people are catching on to digi's ego, and moving to logic. I can honestly say I'm on apples site several times a week.

First 003 being hardly upgraded, then 7.4 having only what Logic already has, now something that should be 50$ is 280$ that's only a little less than the mbox mini....I knew those pre's were cheap but...wow.

I'm sorry, this turned into a bash, that's not my way. But let me just say this...

Give us some illustrations of instruments we can put one our tracks as reference...for fun
Bounce to disk, needs to be faster. Pro tools is like the only DAW lacking now a days.
And some updated plugins would be nice...ehem...1998 maxim? Now 'that's' a payable update.

Give us the ability to run PT on vista for free if we don't want 7.4 yet, its only human.

Make this Mbox 2 micro mini tiny have a discount price for pro tools users. You guys will be more popular I promise

And lastly...go to black audio for help with the 004!

This thing is awesome! It's gonna make working on the dub stage sooo much easier, my back is already feeling better knowing those Mbox feet aren't going to be poking through my backpack much longer!
