Default Sonoma 14.5

Has anyone installed Sonoma 14.5 and can share their experiences? Does Avid recommend waiting to install an OS update until after they have tested it? If so, how do they usually communicate this?

Thanks.

I have it on two Macs but not yet my main rig. No issues on those two machines. I was considering upgrading the main rig tonight and will report back if there are problems. 14.4.1 is awfully stable w/ PT and I don't anticipate new issues here.

Thanks for the response. Looking forward to hearing the follow-up.

I had lots of issues with 14.4.1 but nearly all of them were the result of user error which I mostly fixed by reading the manual. There was one issue with Kontakt crashing when making duplicates that was confirmed by Avid (and perhaps fixed with a Kontakt update?) and a mysterious issue with a crackling sound when clicking on midi notes when using the default input monitoring preference (which I solved by trashing preferences and never touching that setting again).

Using it on main machine (M2 Ultra studio + HDX) no dramas - well no more than the usual dramas which is fine.

I have used 14.5 since beta1 and all I can say it is miles better than any 14.4

In what way is 14.5 such an improvement?

Hi there... I know that this release has improved memory handling which helps with PT and any complex application.

Avid will test it and probably already has started so you can wait til we approve or go with what others on here have said since they are forging ahead.

In my experience, 14.4.1 was made of marble. Super solid. I'm also wondering what, specifically, we would notice about 14.5 that would suggest that it's operating at a higher level or with fewer issues.
