Default So for those of us who bought a new avid hd i/o and native card...

We have to spend 1000 bucks because they're phasing out the older interfaces? I just spent thousands earlier this year... or will there be a cheaper crossgrade for those of us who DID buy avid hd i/os.

On a more comical note a friend of mine just bought 2 more 96i/os

There is apparently a support plan for $599 that will give you the HD 10 upgrade included. Still waiting for more details on that.

What interfaces do you have?

and cptk people get it for $350

Why do cptk people get all of the features for $350 but those of us on the newer systems dont get any such deal?

Not sure where the $999.99 comes from. As I read the upgrade info, and my local Avid deal confirmed, to upgrade from 9HD Native to 10HD Native is $299.

Not sure where you or the Avid rep read that, but it really is $999 for HD 9 to HD 10. $299 is for regular (non HD) PT9 to PT10.

HD Native requires the HD software.

Yes, some have made the mistake of buying the $299 version of PT10 just to find out that they don't have the correct ilok asset. It's an absolute fact that the upgrade to PTHD 10 is $999 regardless of whether you are on a Native or TDM system. This is what has created such an uproar on other forums. Here it is on the Sweetwater page: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PT10HD9HDup/

I bought my Native HD system back in March this year. Now they want $1,000 for Ram Cache. That's crazy. What's next ?
