Default iMac Pro 2017 Target Display Mode

Hello,

I have purchased a Macbook Pro M2 Pro and it's the best investment I have ever made ....

I currently have in my studio an iMac Pro Late 2017 with the T2 Chip and wanted to upgrade my Studio.

I was thinking of buying a Mac Mini M2 Pro which basically have the same specs as my Macbook Pro M2.

My question: is there any hack or something where I can use the iMac Pro as a display for my Mac Mini ??

I have read that old iMacs used to have the Target Display Mode for that ...

Is there a workaround for the 2017 iMac Pro ?

Feedback is much appreciated ...

Thank you

Nope.

You could alway just google this answer. There are very clear lists of what Mac models support target display mode. It's a pity Apple stopped supporting it.

No, sorry. I would have volunteered something for you if there was. This is something I also wish Apple supported on recent iMacs.

There is Apple Remote display etc. which you might use to use an iMac to connect to a remote computer. But that other computer still needs a display and it's lots more overhead/worse performance than using Thunderbolt display target mode and not a direct replacement at all for how I'd want to use display target mode.

If you don't need to keep your iMac as a spare I'd tend to think of seeing what it is worth used and look to buy another monitor.
