ReVibe
'A new plug-in from Digidesign designed exclusively for the new HD Accel card, ReVibe is intended to give Pro Tools TDM users a room modeling reverb tool that can handle any reverberation task. The 96 kHz-capable ReVibe plug-in provides eight entirely new reverb algorithms complementing an extensive collection of over 100 room types/early reflections. Its innovative room-modeling algorithms allow combinations of different room reflections and coloration, and are presented in an easy-to-use preset manager that is embedded within the user interface. Interactive displays derived from Digidesign’s Reverb One are used throughout the ReVibe plug-in, making it even easier to visualize and edit reverb characteristics.'
Digi, why for Accel only ? Why ???

Re: ReVibe
they are trying as best as they can / in as many ways possible to force Accel upon the (regular) HD crowd.

Re: ReVibe
Yes, they are trying the best they can to make proprietary plugs for TDM/HD/Accel systems. This is just about the only way they can justify the cost to those users as the point for point feature gap between their TDM and Native systems continues to close. i.e. By making gold plated exclusive plug-ins for them. Anyone with a Fast Computer, 002/DV Toolkit system is about as close to a TDM system as you can get at less than half the cost. There are many other nice alternative options out there for RTAS. Very nice. Altiverb, McDSP, and of course - Waves. just to name a few. Don’t forget, Digi is a hardware company first and foremost. They need to make all of their systems as attractive as possible at every level. If that means offering things to their high-end users that native users cannot use - well, that has always been the case with Digi.

Re: ReVibe
dkrz, what you're saying is true, however what i was emphasizing was that Digi is trying to force people with HD regular to jump up to HD Accel.
i mean, we all know how unpopular Accel's release is to the existing HD crowd, and how especially unpopular the 'special, limited-time' upgrade path is.

[/QUOTE] Unless they bundle Re-vibe, Impact and other cool stuff with each HD Process/HD Accel exchange...

Re: ReVibe
I can remember the day when Digi said " We will be developing plug-ins exclusively for HD " when I upgraded from my Mix3 to HD3. I guess they forgot to mention it was not your vintage HD you just bought but the next one currently in development. "Gotcha" "Sucka".
