Pro Tools First - Cannot Hear Waves Plugin

My friend downloaded Pro Tools Intro, has an ilok, and using a Universal Audio 276 interface (Mac). He can see/hear his guitar in PT but when he applies the plugin (Waves Supermodels PRS), at the top I/O it doesn’t work, getting the same clean sound. Your help would be appreciated.

Do you have direct monitoring enable on your interface?
If the Direct button on the top of your interface is illuminated, then it is enabled and you will hear the 'direct' signal from guitar and not what the plugin is generating. Try disabling it and see if that helps.

If not, post back and we'll see if we can get this working for you.

^^^ and in addition to that they need to make sure Options>Low Latency Monitoring is NOT selected. If it is that mutes all software monitoring of record/input monitoring enabled inputs... exactly what you need to hear the plug-in.
