HP Z800 graphics card

hey i bought a HP z800 but it came without a graphics card, do i have to use a graphics card listed on the AVID site for HP z800?

The answer is no. You can run any card you want. However why not try to pick up one of the fully supported ones? I would however go with the cheapest supported card since PT could care less if you pushing pixels or crunching numbers.

i went to best buy and bought a cheap nvidia card. works fine. dont know if its going to play well with prtools hd native though. im still saving for a 192 io.

I had problems with Nvidia 4800 and 5800 cards on my Pt9 connected with Firewire to a Focusrite Saffire 56. We belive it was a audio conflict with the sound going through the Displayports.
I changed to a Ati Radeon HD 5750.

Just wanted to let you know if you should experience any problems.

I found a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290 on E-Bay for around $50.
