Real Time Midi Should Be By Plug-Ins

I believe that the real-time midi processing introduced in PT7 should have been plug-in based and that Digi should consider changing this.

I was kind of hoping that PT7's realtime midi stuff would be set up like plugins- similar to the way that DP is - because

1) the metaphor of inserts works well with MIDI IMO,

2) there's already a place to put it in the interface rather than crowding things together (as the screenshots appear to indicate), and

3) it would have possibly opened the door to third-party MIDI plugins that might have incorporated more interesting processing algorothms, say, a "style" plugin with more than just static time and velocity parameters or a realtime intelligent part-splitter or maybe a processor like the VSL performance tool...and how many people in this thread mentioned arpeggiators?...
