Default DSP Quattro releases version 5

Just noticed today Stefano has released Version 5 of DSP Quattro: http://www.dsp-quattro.com/dspquattr...P-Quattro.html
Upgrade price from V4 is $39 US and full price is $79US. Not too bad there.

Was ready to jump on it but it requires El Crapitan or higher which leaves those of us on Yosemite or lower out of luck. I wonder if it's locked out of earlier OSX versions like the latest revision of Kontakt 5 requires higher than Yosemite? I'm staying on PT11.3.2 which maxes out at OSX 10.10.5.

As an aside I have a test partition on an external drive that has Sierra on it (don't remember the exact build) and PT11.3.2 seems to work okay the small amount of time I put in on it.

Looks like a complete rewrite. App is only 11mb!!

It's super slim now with regards to menus, prefs, etc. I like it so far.

I do see an email being sent to Stefano requesting a "light mode", can't stand light text on dark backgrounds.

Also, you'll want to keep v4 around as the files aren't backward/forward compatible.

Ouch on the latter. I thought a wav file was a wav file or are you talking about something else? Can v4 and v5 coexist on the same partition? If so I might have a go at trying a demo of v5 and see if it will install (and run okay) on OSX 10.10.5

Talking about DSPQ doc files. 5 won't open a v4 file. They coexist perfectly fine though.

EDIT: I see why now. It's got a unified Project structure now. Whereas before you could do a "file", AudioCD Layout, or Project. Much simpler now.

I'm an idiot; forgot about the CD layout and project files. Mea culpa, mea culpa.

I'll see about downloading the demo of v5 later today - got work at home to take care of. Got to keep the wife happy

For those contemplating purchasing V5 take a look at pages 3/4/5/6 of this thread over on Motunation as people there have been having various issues with the purchase and authorization: http://www.motunation.com/forum/view...62108&start=30
