Default Patch select problems

Sometimes when I open a session, Pro Tools have lost all Patch select information that tells my external Midi devices what instrument they should play. The patch select buttom just shows "none". First I noticed that the problem occured in old sessions created on PT 6 and opened in PT 7, but when I today opened a PT 7 session that I worked on a couple of moths ago, again all the Patch select information was gone...

I have´nt change any midi settings or other hardware configurations in many years, just updated PT and OSX.

I connect all external midi devices with Digidesign midi i/o. (Korg Triton Rack, Roland JV 1080, Roland SC 88)

Anyone that have experienced the same problem?...

If you load up a session with your MIDI interface switched off, what happens?

I've had it happen to, and I think this is the cause.

Well if I load the session with the Midi i/o interface disconnected the output of miditracks blank out and patch select still shows "none". I reconnected again and opened the session: Miditrack output OK but patch select still shows "none".

It seems like the session has lost just the patch information - nothing else.

How could this happen? Digidesign - any comments?...
