Processor upgrades

I have a dual 1gig MDD G4 running 7.3.1 HD and am intrested in upgrading to the Sonnet Encore/MDX G4 Duet 1.8. Is the upgrade worth doing? Anyone who's done it? Thanks!!

This is a very risky proposition for a PT TDM rig. Best to avoid it.

I had real good luck using Gigadesign dual 1.8 on a 933 Quicksilver. I was running PTHD 7.2 before moving up to a G5.

email me i have a sonnet 1.8 dual for sale.

i'm not so sure 7.3.1cs1 is all that rock solit with it but the limitations on teh 1.5 g of ram is maybe more of the issue....the new PT software is more demanding than 7.2 digi didn't bother to support G4 owners...which was a shame.

i upgrade last week to G5 but i used it for over a year with much success

According to G4 compatibility the G4 is supported for PT 7.3.1
