Can't upload files from a project to the cloud. Waverforms and DLY are red
Hi there,
I am having problems uploading data and audio from a project to the cloud. Waveforms and DLY are red. Never had this issue, it was there suddenly. Anyone knows what's going on? Thanks! |

Re: Can't upload files from a project to the cloud. Waverforms and DLY are red
Welcome to DUC.
You are talking about Avid Cloud? My advice, and what seems to be the general opinion here, is users should not be working with Pro Tools Cloud Projects. They are unreliable, buggy etc. and ultimately you risk losing work or potentially entire projects. There are many hundreds of posts on DUC of people having problems with Pro Tools cloud projects. You should be reading through those threads if you are very very brave and think this is for you. And if you do go ahead with this and have problems you are likely just better off going directly to Avid support, other users here cannot look at what is going on with your project/cloud sync, Avid support hopefully can. https://www.avid.com/learn-and-suppo...-music-support There were probably thousands of posts about problems with Avid Cloud that were deleted from DUC when the Pro Tools First section was deleted. The reliance on Pro Tools First on Avid cloud was one of it's many failures, but ultimately removing that DUC forum for a dead product was the right thing to do. Most users who need to share sessions/collaborate work with industry standard Pro Tools sessions. You can zip together the session and upload it to any third party cloud/file sharing service and other users can download it and run locally (don't try to run it off the cloud storage... keeping it in zip format in the cloud helps avid mistakes when users launch sessions using the cloud storage). This can also be a great *part* of a backup/archive strategy, keeping those shared zip files in the cloud (set them not deletable/not overwritable and just keep adding them). If you want to do real time collaboration there are multiple remote desktop/sharing products designed to help there. But the goal of a real-time collaborative cloud based Pro Tools that is actually reliable/robust is unfortunately a fantasy. Avid Link and Avid Cloud Collaboration software is an immediate uninstall on my computers, uninstallers are packaged with the install. Last edited by Darryl Ramm; 10-25-2022 at 02:44 PM. |
