Ok. Installed 2021.6 on top of 20201.3.1 and loaded it up. After plugin scan it started fine. Opened a demo song and played it back fine. Checked a few plugins and they seem fine. I'm just a hobbyist so I'll let the power users test the more advanced features. Overall, it seems to be pretty solid. Hopefully this will help some of you.

nice one Avid, some really good features and enhancements ! - even the note as on Vanilla having the 256 voices means my engineer probably doesn't end up with deleted tracks anymore. downloading asap!

EDIT: and plugin crash reporting, I remember talking to a rep 6+ years ago about this and they could do it but it might put the cat amongst the pigeons. really good, hoping obviously I don't need this feature toooo soon ha

Default Protools 2021.6

Pretty excited. I downloaded, installed, and ran a few simple tests and it seems solid for now. I'd like to hear from the M1 owners as this version is certified compatible with Apple Silicon through Rosetta2 (still not native). It is a step in the right direction. Read the release notes about more voices, side chain delay compensation, improved customizable dark mode and color settings, and the Hybrid features. Sounds like a pretty big feature improvement.

Anyone know how to test the "tab to transient," "import video," "navigate folders," and "bounce to video" functions. If I recall, those are some of the most prominent bugs people have voiced here. (Also all the MIDI complaints)

So far video engine doesn’t want to launch… Seems to have turned off with the install and now just says “Error Launching Video Engine”.

So its supported in M1 Macs, but without video. I've been using the 2021.3.1 unsupported version all this time with video and no issues (using videos with the right codec), and now that its supported it does not work with any video at all.
Sorry but i don't get it. Video Engine should be a very important part of Pro Tools, not a side note in the version release.

The Hybrid Engine is an unbelievable move forward. Very happy.

Working great here.

I've only had less than an hour to play with it though.
Many more voices, many more tracks.
Fantastic.

Seems like video files take significantly longer to restore when opening a session. Like 2-3 seconds per video file, which adds up quickly when you have 40 or 50 in a session. If i move the files to a different folder the session opens almost instantly and relink works way faster than letting the session load on it's own...
