Multiple copies of plugins - delete?
Quote:
I used to do that too until I realised that moving plugins into sub folders within the plugins folder didn’t affect them loading in PT. Now I I essentially do what you do, but instead use folders. Like you mentioned, very useful having them organised to identify them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Sardi; 06-20-2021 at 05:09 PM. |

Re: Multiple copies of plugins - delete?
I used to organise plugins myself in the TDM days when updates were few, but now that it seems I need to update something every week I have not bothered. Just let them be where they are installed in the first place. Though I would like it if all plugin vendors would add their plugins to a COMPANYNAME folder.
But back to the point, removing plugin file does no harm to the system. It is just the same as moving it to the unused folder.

Wrapped plugins? What wrapper are you using? FXPansion stopped supporting their app a loooooong time ago. If you mean a hosting plugin like Patchwork, that’s not wrapping anything. It’s merely hosting the VST/AU component within the plugin itself. If you want to remove those, navigate to the VST and AU folders and delete them from there. Navigate to what page?
If you're talking about the folder where your PT aax plugins are stored it's MacHD/Library/Apoplication Support/Avid/Audio in there you will find two folders - one named 'Plug-Ins' and the other named Plug-Ins Unused). |

Re: Multiple copies of plugins - delete?
Thank you all. Yeah it's in a wrapped drop down menu. Never seen that before. I just went ahead and reinstalled everything cause I did remove all the plugins, but it won't disappear in the drop down menu.
Does PT2020 run VST & VST3 ?

No.
Post a screenshot of these ‘wrapped’ plugins. I’m not aware of any wrapper for AAX. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

PT can run vst2 & vst3 plugins but you need a host like Blue Cat Patchwork or VE Pro. |
