Default Crane Song HEDD 192 and 192 IO clocking

Hi all,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I want to see if the rig I work on is connected correctly. We just picked up a 3rd 192 and the setup is currently this:

HDX Port 1 > 192 #1 Primary Port
192 #1 Expansion Port > 192 #2 Primary Port
HDX Port 2 > 192 #3 Primary Port

HEDD is used as master clock and used to print board mixes back into PT.
Clocking is does via AES from the Crane Song HEDD into encl AES of 192 #1. Loop sync starts at the HEDD w.c. Out and flows down accordingly until the loop is completed from Loop Sync Out of 192 #3 to HEDD w.c. In

Does the loop sync even need to hit the HEDD? The 3rd 192 is not getting into loop sync and is causing pops and clicks. The clock source is sessions setup is set to 192 #1 AES, which in theory should be the HEDD, right?

Is anything wrong with this setup?

Using loop sync with non-Avid devices is not really supported (although it can work in some cases, however you need to be careful with termination and be aware that it always operates that the base sample rate). Best would be to take the HEDD W/C's out into 192's ordinary W/C in, and use loop sync between the 192s.
