Default "Lost" plug-in licenses

I recently had to replace my main drive (Mac G5 dual 2.0 ghz) that has OS 10.5.8, Pro Tools 8.0cs3 and all of my plug-ins installed on it. I used Carbon Copy Cloner to backup the failing drive, installed a new SATA 500GB drive (only $50!) and proceeded to copy the backup back to the main drive.

Because of some unknown reason I had to uninstall and reinstall Pro Tools 8 and then upgrade to 8.0cs3. I started up PT but it would not load because of iLok "extensions not being found" I installed the latest drivers for a PPC Mac and did get Pro Tools to open. However, all of my plug-in licenses are missing. PT is asking to input serial # codes, activate licenses and negotiate with the newly revamped iLok anti-piracy method.

This task could take hours and I don't know if I have all the documentation required...

Is there any way I can find the files that indicate the status of my licenses and reinstall them on the new drive? Any other solutions? Will I be able to relicense my original plugs or are they not able to licensed for a second time?

Any input from someone who knows about would be appreciated.

Go to www.ilok.com and find a legacy installer. If you don't have that driver installed, PT won't see your key at all.

Thanks for your replay JF
I had already done that just to launch Pro Tools...
When I go to open a PT file, however, dozens of dialogue boxes come up asking me to authorize each plug in individually... PT has amnesia and even tho the iLok is updated with the legacy driver. I was wondering if there was a workaround for this.
Have any other ideas? (I am also following up on this with iLok)

If you have proper keys on your iLok key, and have that iLok key inserted, and have iLok drivers installed, there should not be a problem. Take a look at all those three points I made and if it still gives you trouble I think it would be up to www.ilok.com to sort it out.

Hi Janne,

I got it fixed. Turns out that on a PPC based PT Accel|3 system a different "legacy" driver (to authorize plug-ins) had to be installed. The installation instructions were not exactly clear on iLok's website making for some real confusion on my end. I finally discovered that each iLok had to be synced SEPARATELY on an Intel based Mac. The instructions turned out to be on 3 different iLok pages upon which I fortunately stumbled. I put 2 and 2 together and came up with a solution. Piracy policy is a necessary evil for innocents who actually purchase their own software. Thanks for your valuable time and help.
