Default Strange equality and PT10 bug (urgent!)

i have a very strange bug with the equality.
i´m right now in a rerec stage where they have mac os 10.8.5, and PT10.3.7.
When i have equality in 12 tracks, (digital mode), the native cpu load is at 80%.
if i hit play it goes down to 4%. problem is, i have more than 12 tracks and the cpu load get too much when pro tools is not playing and playing is than not possible anymore.
very strange.

and when i convert equality to dsp, it does not let any audio thru.

but the real weird thing is that dsp usage gets so high just when you don´t play the session.

anyone knows this problem?

thanks
emil

seems like i have a denormilization problem here..
i found this thread:
http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t...oad+pt+stopped

where Darryl ramm stated this:
"Likely not so strange, you likely have a plugin instantiated that suffers from demoralization problems. With the transport stopped and no input to the plugin it goes into denormalization, thrashing the CPU. This is one of the classic symptoms of plugin denormalization.

You can amuse yourself here by finding the offending plugins... You got Sansamp or DVerb used (that would make it easy)? Stick a dither plugin in front of them and see this behavior go away.

The other thing to do is stop looking at the CPU meter."

i guess i need an older equality version. dave is just not answering now, anyone has one?

ok, found the solution.
the new installer for dmg equality also install the 64 bit version of this plugin.
and for some reasons PT used this. and this was causing all the trouble. de-installing just the version with the "64" helped and solved it.

omg.

I am glad that you found a solution to your issue. That said, I have found that PT 10 is not nearly as efficient at plug in processing as 11 or 12. I have 10 HD at home and 12 HD at the office, and the difference is staggering.
