Default Transpose

I will keep this simple. I have 1 Audio note which I'd like to Transpose.

1. I Highlight the note
2. I Choose Event > Event Operations > Transpose
3. I then change the 0 in the Octave or Semitone to a higher or lower value
4. the APPLY Button remains blue when I click it
5. nothing changes

What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks ahead of time.

Dan

Event operations are for MIDI, not audio.

You can use a plugin (track-based on the inserts or an Audiosuite plugin), or you can use Elastic Audio. The monophonic algorithm can't be used to alter the pitch with EA.

Ah! Thank you.

However, two years ago I did the same process—but I have no idea which Menu I used—and I know it wasn't Elastic Audio.

Two years ago I Highlighted an Audio notes—choose from a Menu which I can't remember—and a similar box opened up, asking me if I want to change pitch by a semi tone or an octave. It had an APPLY button, and it worked.

Is there some other place besides Event operations and Elastic Audio where I can do what I am desiring?

You likely used a Pitch plugin, but Elastic Audio is likely to give a better result. Enable Elastic Audio using the Polyphonic option. Highlight the note or clip you want to shift and separate it. Right-click on the clip and select Elastic Properties. That will bring up the window where you can enter the amount of shift. It USUALLY works quite well within 1-2 steps in either direction. For my money, the best pitch changer is Serato Pith 'n Time

Actually I didn't use a plugin…but I will use Elastic Audio for what I want to correct. I only need to correct in cents.

Many thanks for your help.
