Default Registry Error on Mountain Lion

I'm trying to open PT 10.3.3 on Mountain Lion and I'm getting a window saying:
Registry Error....Please insure this product has been installed properly.

Hi,

Is this a fresh install or upgrade from an earlier version if PT?

I would start by doing the following..

Run the uninstaller to do a clean uninstall
Trash prefs user library prefs...
-Delete 'com.digidesign.protoolsLE.plist', 'DAE Prefs' (folder), 'DigiSetup.OSX' and 'Pro Tools preferences'.

Empty trash
Repair disk permissions
Reboot mac
Download installer again!! Incase previous installer was corrupted!!

Install again
Make sure you have the latest ilok driver installed

Those Pefs aren't there to delete. The Digidesign Mini Grand and Expand are there. Done all the uninstalls and re installs.

Yes. The problem is some old plugins I need to remove but I don't know where they're located.

Google or searching this forum will fix that problem for you (and many more).

Here is a direct link. http://www.pro-tools-expert.com/home...d-running.html

The problem is I'm not fining the right Library because there are no Avid or Digidesign folders in there.

"In where" exactly. There are multiple different locations. Give the exact path you are trying to follow. You are not looking for a "library" (a technical computer term) you are looking for a plugin folder containing a bunch of files.

And back up one. What exactly have you done so far? If you have done a clean uninstall (i.e. used the Pro Tools uninstaller with clean option) then all the plugin files have been removed by the uninstaller. Did you do that like you said? Then why are you still trying to remove plugins?

Have you actually done all the standard deletion of prefs and databases? By following the exact instruction? Including the need to hold down the Option key and use the Go menu in the finder to get to the now hidden user libraries? If you try that and "things are not there" again give an exact path of what is not there.

We can't keep guessing what you are doing, you need to exactly describe each step (like how exactly did you uninstall/remove the last install?).

Go precisely down the list Crizdee already gave you and say exactly whether you have done each step and if not what the problem was. Which is pretty much a recap of where you should have started by following the standard troubleshooting guides (this one is for Lion but work for Mountain Lion as well) at http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...791?popup=true These are linked from the "Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!" link at the top of this page, if you have really not read that you should. Those instructions will describe the Option key trick necessary to see your user library folder contents.
