Default no driver in device manager

Hi,
I stupidly install pro tools with found hardware wizard and I couldn't back to start point.
In device manager there is no hardware anywhere , when I plug mbox 2 , its lights on but no "safely remove hardware" icon on system tray and pro tools couldn't locate the driver too!
How could I properly install mbox 2 and pro tools again. I already unistall with uninstall.exe on dvd and clean the registry but nothing works, please someone halp me!

Run the un-installer again. Do a search for anything related to digidesign that may be left and delete them, then run registry cleaner.

Re-install Pro Tools (I assume you have PT version 8) onto system drive (C:) only.

Once installed don't open it. Instead download and run the v8.05 updater;
http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=393667

I vaguely recall Vista needs v8.04 or higher.

Ignore any 'Found new hardware messages' that pop up (they should disappear automatically) and only turn on Mbox when prompted to do so.

However, once you have it installed correctly you may still experience performance issues since your computer looks a little dodgy, for instance;
2GB RAM is bare minimum
Integrated graphics often cause problems
It looks like you only have one HDD.

To run PT properly you need to have it installed on the system drive (C:) and record to separate drive. Recording to a separate partition on the same drive is no good.

Best of luck.

I don't know why all this mess, but it didn't work too
I changed the settings for vista auto detecting hardware but no chance.
MBox2 lights on but vista doesn' recognize and pro tools says didn't locate the driver ? where is the problem ? it installs itself properly with no errors, please somebody help me!

I would completely start over. Use the uninstaller app on your install disk, make sure your mbox is turned off.

Then exactly follow Bill's instructions;

1. Do not plug in your Avid interface until after PT9 is completely installed!

2. Install the Avid drivers.

3. Reboot.

4. Install PT9 + updates.

5. Shut down your computer, connect your interface, and restart your computer.

Upgrading from 8 to 9 is not free. I don't think you can buy PT9 online from Avid anymore so you would either have to get it off eBay 2nd hand or find a retailer that still has it in stock.

I'm suspecting that since you originally used the found new hardware wizard, Vista has installed some driver by default which isn't getting uninstalled and could be interfering with the Mbox installation. You could try going into Device Manager>double click Sound Video and game controllers>double click the first controller>Driver Tab>Uninstall>ignore warnings, OK. Do same for all entries.

Then start over and follow Bill's instructions.

But...from my previous post;

"However, once you have it installed correctly you may still experience performance issues since your computer looks a little dodgy, for instance;

Honestly, I doubt upgrading to PT9 is going to help solve your problem. In fact I'm not even sure PT9 is supported on Vista.

Yes, first message I was wrong, it wasn't "found new hardware wizard" pop up, it's actually driver pass screen...
I don't get what's going on, in my previous acer everthing is perfect but this acer has only on board graphichs adapter has differently...
I think real problem is there is no device is being shown in device manager.
