Session Created in 2022.10 will not open in 2022.12

I updated to 2022.12, including the HD Driver, from 2022.10 and had the following issue.

When opening sessions created in 2022.10, Pro Tools would crash during the "restoring tracks" process. Seemed to stall every time when it reached the auxes I have set up for fold downs, no down mixing plugins, just Pro Tools bus fold downs.

Tried multiple sessions, all suffered the same fate. I rolled back to 2022.10 and everything works again.

I was able to create new sessions in 2022.12, which seemed to work fine.

Pro Tools 2022.12 running under Rosetta 2
Avid MTRX - HDX 2
Mac Studio
Monterey 12.6.2

Are you able to import the 2022.10 session files into a blank 2022.12 project, as an alternative?

I rolled back before trying this. If I give it another go, I'll give this a shot if needed. Thanks!

Sounds like a corrupted install. I’d uninstall 2022.120, restart, install 2022.12, restart and see how that goes. The restarts definitely make a difference for me.

I've also been having issues opening 2022.10 sessions with 2022.12 - resorting to importing tracks into new sessions a handful at a time but even then it's been buggy - quitting at random times upon re-opening.

Going through plug-ins (which are all up to date) trying to find a culprit there but after seeing this I'm hoping it's just a bad install of 2022.12 - I'll try the above re-install suggestion and report back.

Same here with the Ultimate on both Mac Studio Max and MBP M1 Pro. Rolled back to 2022.7 on both systems.

A re-install of 2022.12 did not solve the issue for me.

My original post was regarding a Mac Studio on Monterey. I have since tried installing on another machine, iMac Pro on Big Sur. Having the same issue. I am able to open some sessions but not others. Haven't figured out the culprit yet.

I had that issue with a session updating from 2022.6 to 2022.10. It tuned out that the session was corrupted. Try creating a new session and use the import data function.
