Default Help Please - M-Audio FastTrack/Pro-Tools M Powered

Hi all

I'm new to the forum and new to the game of M-Audio FastTrack/Pro Tools and so I hope someone can help and forgive my ignorance!

I recorded some songs from our practice session, hooking up the FastTrack through the PA and USB into my laptop. The recording worked fine, all on one track and playback was fine when listended back initially. After first song was recorded I saved the session and to save time I then just clicked 'undo' recording, recorded our next song and then saved that session but under another name and continued that way until all recorded.

All the sessions have been saved seperately but now when I re-open them in pro-tools - the track is missing and it says something along the lines of 'Relink audio' and can not seem to find the recorded track relevant to that session. The only one that plays back is the last song we recorded.

How can I retreive the tracks/songs? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

The Shamrock

You should probably go through the manual "close", then "new". Don't know what happened unless when you hit undo recording, it deleted the session files.

Check the audio folder within each of the session folders and see if you have any .wav files in them. Just reload them into PT. If they're not there, they got deleted with the "undo".

Thanks Julia B.

I thought it might have worked like any other program, with saving under a different file name keeping the changes and the existing file seperate - whoops!

Thing is the data is there, it just won't load up. I keep getting an option to Manually find and relink all missing files, regenerate and relink missing files or regenerate missing render files?! I try and do all this, it finds the wav. but its like it us blank and it doesnt load in.

How large are the .wav files? Handle them as import audio.

I don't know if you can just drag and drop an audio file into PT like you can with some other DAWs. I haven't played much with PT lately. If not do the Import Audio and load the .wav file you made if it's still there.
