Control 24 no longer works on update to 7.3

Hi stayed up late updating PT from 6.9.1 to 7.3 last night. Updated the Mac dual 2ghz G5 to 10.4.6 and updated PT to 7.3. It sees the 192 I/O but not the control 24. I tried to enable it under the Peripherals menu but to no avail. Is there an update for the firmware or something i missed?

The installation cleared your ethernet controller settings. Just go in and reset/choose your Control 24 and you'll be back up.

you may have to power cycle the c24. make sure your speakers are off when you do

In Pro Tools.

Setup->Peripherals

Click the Ethernet Controllers tab

Select en0 (or en1 if you are pugged into the second ethernet port)

It should find the Control 24

Software issues might also cause that. And just installing 7.3 on top of 6.9.2 is a bad idea, if that is what you did.

Pro Tools 6.x is not compatible with any 7.x version, neither are the plug-ins. Since that was a major Pro Tools rewrite.

You should try putting the 6.9 disk in or downloading the 6.9.2 update from the website and doing a clean uninstall from the "custom install" menu during the install process.

Clean all of 6.9.2 off there, then run the 7.3 uninstaller from the Pro Tools Utilities Folder inside your Pro Tools Applicaiton Folder. Clean uninstall 7.3. Don't just drag folders to the trash, it's important you use the uninstaller apps.

With a fresh start now you're ready to install 7.3 and there shouldn't be any issues. Good Luck

ahh..ok...worth a shot..do i have to reinstall all of the plug ins again?
