Default Guitar/MIDI/music notation?

My friend David asked me this question today:

"was curious to know if you have any input to offer on music notation software - what i am trying to do is write some charts for two saxes - it appears i would need some sort of midi interface from my guitar to the computer so that it can chart out the notes, or maybe record the notes in some sort of midi interface to then download to the software, which would then create the chart - any ideas what the best approaches are?"

Now, I know that hex-pickup-guitar-to-MIDI conversion has been pretty dicey. I also know that MIDI-to-usable-notation software is also dicey. This is probably a one-time need for David, so I don't want to suggest he invest too heavily in technology. Ideas? Thanx.

It works almost like a multi-track sequencing program. It's super useful when working with people who aren't that great with sheet music but can work better with tablature.

Thanx yellowjacket - looks interesting, but no guitar input. Anybody tried a Roland GR20 and Sibelius Notation Software?
